At the sports center in Avio, in the province of Trento, the athletics track has been upgraded with a new poured-in-place surface.
Avio (Tn): Athletics track at the Calliari Sports Center

The Umberto Calliari sports center in Avio (Tn), built in the 1980s with a soccer field, is now a true sports citadel, comprising a soccer field – no longer natural grass but synthetic turf – a swimming pool, and finally, the athletics track, which had long been asphalt.
The three facilities are used by three sports clubs: Avio Calcio, Leno Nuoto 2001, and, for athletics, Junior Sport.

The new athletics track, including a straight line for long jumps, was inaugurated on May 1st with the first edition of the Joy Cup 2025, an athletics event for children and youth.
The sports surface was constructed with a poured-in-place and sprayed surface, compliant with FIDAL regulations.
The project consists of a first support layer created by pouring SBR rubber granules (min. 8.25 kg/mq) mixed with colorless polyurethane resin (min. 1.57 kg/mq) and spreading them on-site using a suitable machine to a final thickness of at least 10 mm. A polyurethane primer is applied to bond the surface to the bituminous substrate.
The final surface layer of the athletics track in Avio, with a nominal thickness of 2 mm, is created by spraying a continuous, nail-resistant polyurethane coating, applied in the liquid state, and colored EPDM rubber granules with a controlled diameter of 0.5 – 1.5 mm. The traditional red color was chosen for this project.
