The complex has several sports facilities, including a summer/winter swimming pool, outdoor and indoor five-a-side football pitches, tennis courts and beach volleyball courts, and a natural grass football pitch surrounded by a 400-metre, 6-lane athletics track.

Built in the 1980s, the track was now in a decaying condition, which was further aggravated after the flooding event of 4 October 2021 when the town was flooded by the waters of the Orba torrent.

By that date, however, the project to resurface the track had already been outlined, the implementation of which, put out to tender, was entrusted to Green System in 2022.

The pre-existing surface was completely removed, together with the old kerbs; after reshaping the sub-base, the new, waterproof, poured-in-place surface with physical-mechanical characteristics conforming to the FIDAL/WA Technical Regulations was then laid. The work was then completed with the laying of the new kerbs and channels, and the marking of the lanes. Additional work was also carried out at the jumping and throwing platforms.

For a better integration into the environment, it was decided to adopt a turf colour in the earthy range, which harmonises well with the bright green of the natural grass on the indoor field. In contrast, a sector of the high jumping lunette is in a light blue colour.

Green System’s experience in sports facilities

Green System is a young and dynamic company founded in 2015, which in just a few years has developed specific experience in the turnkey construction of athletics tracks with cast-in-place or sandwich systems approved by FIDAL/WA, and of 11-, 7- and 5-a-side football pitches with synthetic grass. It also installs indoor and outdoor acrylic resin sports flooring for tennis courts and multi-sports fields, multi-layer polyurethane resin flooring for gyms, prefabricated PVC flooring for indoor sports surfaces, and anti-trauma flooring for playgrounds and calisthenics areas.

In addition, Green System carries out ordinary and extraordinary maintenance work and qualified technical assistance for any indoor and outdoor sports flooring, and completion works for playgrounds (drainage and sub-bases, lighting systems, irrigation systems, fences and sports furniture).
