Regupol sports flooring – and in particular Regupol Champion AG – is the ideal solution for both high-level sports competitions and basic activities. The study of the combination of the various layers that make up Regupol flooring, the combination of a prefabricated layer with a layer poured on site, and the installation technique characterize the Regupol solution, making it one of the most efficient surfaces in the world.

Regupol offers various types of systems for athletics track surfaces: mixed systems with a prefabricated rubber base layer and a cast or sprayed PU finish, as well as completely cast-in-place systems. However, unless there are specific requirements, the “mixed” solution generally offers the best results in terms of quality and performance.

For competitive and amateur athletes alike, as well as for owners and managers, the mixed sandwich system with a seeded or sprayed finish offers guarantees that other types cannot provide.

For athletes, the guarantee of a homogeneous, prefabricated base layer, as opposed to a poured-in-place layer, ensures uniform elastic response at every point on the athletic track. For the owner or operator, the prefabricated mat, which is much denser than the poured-in-place system, guarantees optimal resistance to athletes’ spikes and, consequently, long-lasting durability: an important factor for subsequent renovations in which, with this type of system, it is only necessary to intervene on the surface of the system, resulting in significant savings in terms of costs and intervention times.

The surface finish, with polyurethane applied over the mats and EPDM rubber granules seeded or sprayed on top, makes the surface less impactful for athletes than completely prefabricated systems, preserving their physical integrity during regular training.

4.0 technology for Regupol Champion AG mats

The application of the new 4.0 technology in the manufacture of Regupol Champion AG flooring eliminates an entire work step that until now was indispensable for sandwich tracks of all types and from all manufacturers: today, the Regupol base mat can be coated directly with polyurethane without any intermediate steps. This saves time, material, and costs.

Sealing the base mat to prevent the self-leveling PUR wear layer from penetrating during installation is completely omitted with 4.0 technology.

And this is achieved without changing the structure of the base mat. After gluing the mat, the liquid PUR wear layer is poured directly onto the elastic layer: thanks to 4.0 technology, every gram remains on the surface.

The consistent physical properties of Regupol Champion tracks remain unchanged, while the adhesion of the wear layer to the Regupol base mat is significantly improved.

Today, thanks to 4.0 technology applied to the Regupol Champion AG surface, the creation of a sandwich-type athletics flooring allows the proven quality of the Regupol surface to be combined with faster execution and cost savings throughout the entire work phase.
