For the realization of the drainage systems and for the extraordinary maintenance of natural turf in the stadiums of professional clubs it is necessary that the interventions are carried out with appropriate equipment together with a high professionalism of the operators, in order to achieve work carried out to perfection.

Here we review the works carried out on some large stadiums by Sama Srl, specialized in the realization of drainage systems and turf for sports surfaces, a reference point for many football clubs.

At the Ciro Vigorito Stadium in Benevento, surface micro-drainage has been realized with special operating machines, then laying the pre-cultivated clods of macrothermes. At Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia and Luigi Ferraris in Genoa, the substrate was created with Mapei stabilising agents. The other operations described relate to the drainage of the San Paolo in Naples and the reconstruction of the sub-layer at the San Siro Stadium in Milan.
