Husqvarna presents Automower® 540 EPOS® with “Vision AI”

Last fall, the annual summit on sustainable green space maintenance was held in Barcelona, where Husqvarna unveiled the Automower® 540 EPOS®, a next-generation robotic lawn mower designed for landscapers, municipalities, and maintenance crews.

It combines reliable wireless perimeter installation, consistent cutting results, and remote control. It can handle slopes of up to 50% and is designed to adapt to different conditions in green spaces.
“We designed Automower® 540 EPOS® to help professionals ensure consistent results with fewer interruptions and reduced downtime. It is a flexible and reliable solution for efficient and accurate maintenance of areas up to 8,000 m2 and is designed to evolve with innovations such as ‘Vision AI’ technology that detects and avoids obstacles,” says Oscar Holmberg, Product Manager at Husqvarna.
At this event, Husqvarna also introduced the new and innovative “Vision AI” accessory for the Automower® 540 EPOS®, 560 EPOS®, 580 EPOS®, and 580L EPOS® models.
For decades, Husqvarna has been at the forefront of lawn care with autonomous solutions, and thanks to “Vision AI” technology, its new robotic mowers can see and understand their surroundings. Among the main features and benefits is “intelligent” object recognition, which uses built-in artificial intelligence to recognize and respond to obstacles in front of it.

The integrated infrared light allows the camera to detect objects even at night, increasing safety for small nocturnal animals such as hedgehogs and reliability in the absence of light. These features are designed to offer users greater operability and reliability.
Not only products and accessories, but also more flexibility and installation options: Husqvarna professional robotic mowers now feature a new reference antenna or EPOS® service via Husqvarna Cloud to receive correction data.

Firstly, the practical EPOS® technology via Husqvarna Cloud offers maximum operational flexibility and does not limit the user to the coverage of the local reference station, provided that the robotic mower is connected to a cellular network.
Secondly, the new EPOS® RS 4G reference station provides correction data for wireless and hassle-free mowing using a single reference station, provided the mower is covered by a cellular network, eliminating thus eliminating the need to install reference station repeaters. The new 4G station and EPOS® technology via Husqvarna Cloud complement each other and allow customers to customize the EPOS® solution to their needs.
In 2026, Vision AI technology will also be implemented on new models of robotic lawnmowers for private customers.
