The Tokyo 25 World Athletics Championships will be remembered for the myriad of exceptional performances delivered by the 1,992 athletes competing in the Japanese capital, and Mondo is proud to have contributed to this success.

Mondo athletics tracks incorporate unique technologies, including an embossed pattern of ridges and valleys that creates a complex, interconnected network of channels, ensuring traction and efficient water drainage.

MONDOTRACK ELLIPSE IMPULSE is the new athletics track surface optimised to further improve athletic performance through a combination of shock absorption, uniform energy release and redefined elastic behaviour.

The new track model is the result of valuable collaboration with the Polymer Engineering Laboratory of the Politecnico di Milano (PolyEngLab) through careful FEM analysis and virtual modelling algorithms that have led to the design of a new geometry for the sub-base of the prefabricated surface.

The integration of FEM simulation allows the simulation of product prototypes and the interaction between athlete and track, making it possible to reconstruct everything that happens in the execution of an athletic movement in a repeatable manner, something that cannot be achieved with “traditional” methods and timings.

The new MONDOTRACK™ ELLIPSE IMPULSE prefabricated athletics track has been developed by Mondo with particular attention to elastic response, which is essential for ensuring maximum performance for athletes.

The new design of the sub-base, characterised by elliptical geometric shapes, allows the track to respond smoothly and dynamically to every step, jump or throw, significantly improving the absorption and return of the energy imparted by the athlete on the athletics track.
