Just a few kilometers from Rabat, a modern ice hockey rink equipped with spectator stands from the Italian company Omsi has been built.

The Italian company Omsi supplied the spectator stands for the modern multisport arena in the Yacoub El Mansour district of Rabat, just a few kilometers from the center of the Moroccan capital: a facility that seems to defy geography and climate with its ice hockey rink.
This state-of-the-art facility, recently inaugurated, represents one of the most remarkable achievements in the African sports landscape.
The new ice rink covers a total area of over 16,000 square meters and features an Olympic-sized ice rink, measuring approximately 1,700 square meters. The project, completed in about 18 months, required a significant investment—over 20 million euros—demonstrating Morocco’s commitment to strengthening its network of sports facilities.
But what truly makes this facility unique is its setting. In a country where temperatures can be high for most of the year, maintaining a stable ice rink presents a significant technological challenge. Advanced refrigeration and thermal insulation systems ensure ideal conditions for the sport, transforming what might seem like a climatic paradox into a tangible reality.
The opening of an ice rink in Morocco thus takes on symbolic significance. It is a sign of a vision that looks beyond geographical and climatic limits, aiming to position the country as a leader in new sporting fields. A choice that, while it may seem unusual on the one hand, reflects a clear strategy on the other: to innovate, surprise, and open up to the world.

Particular attention was also paid to the comfort and quality of the public seating areas. The Italian company Omsi supplied and installed all the seating for the facility; the M2013 model was chosen, a folding seat designed to combine ergonomics, safety, and durability. The stands were configured in both General Public and VIP versions; the latter is upholstered and equipped with armrests, designed to ensure a more comfortable experience for spectators.
For the VIP section, however, the choice fell on a high-end option: the Leonardo Gold armchair, designed by Pininfarina. A piece of furniture that combines sophisticated design and functionality, an expression of attention to detail that goes beyond the purely sporting aspect and helps define the facility’s modern and international identity.
On a continent where winter sports are still a rarity, the Rabat track is poised to become a benchmark. A place where ice, more than a natural condition, becomes an expression of ambition.
