Following the construction of the new secondary school, the school gym for the Olivieri Comprehensive School in Pesaro was also completed.
Pesaro: new school gym

The project involves the construction of a school gym in Pesaro, for the Olivieri Comprehensive School , attached to the middle school, with a separate building connected by a covered walkway.
The design concept led to the creation of a floor plan and finishes similar to those of the recently built school.
The project was designed according to the principles of green building and the use of natural renewable energy sources, without neglecting all the technical construction measures aimed at energy saving and the conservation and maintenance of the building over time.




The roof of the school gym in Pesaro, made entirely of wood, has a white paint finish to limit the heat island effect, and photovoltaic panels for electricity production are located on the south side of the roof.
On the ground floor, there are two changing rooms and a first aid room; on the upper floor, there are two changing rooms, a technical room, and a multipurpose space. The sports area has a regulation basketball court with spectator stands. The stands have 108 seats.
Natural light is screened by sunshades to ensure that the court can also be used in summer without glare.

The gym is equipped with a fixed grandstand with 108 seats arranged in three rows, with four service staircases and a central niche. The total length is 23.22 meters.

The steps are 40 cm high and 70 cm deep. The walkway and seating are made of 15 mm thick Carply® class 1 fire-retardant birch plywood, with a non-slip embossed finish and a smooth finish respectively. The steps of the access stairs are made in the same way.
The supporting structure is made of structural steel of strength classes S235JR and S275JR, with characteristics compliant with the UNI EN 10219:2006 standard.
All metal parts are painted with a polyester powder coating for interiors, oven-dried at 180 °C, with an average thickness varying from 80 to 100 microns, a gloss level of 80-90 and RAL 5017 color.
The seats are made of Omsi M90 type monobloc PP, without backrest.
