The Mapei Stadium underwent some extraordinary maintenance work, including the redevelopment of the turf. For the occasion, the deep drainage system made with Mapesoil technology was subjected to performance tests. To deepen the aspects of its technology, Mapei will host a workshop at the Mapei Stadium on 22 September 2022. Followed by an on-site visit with agronomist Dr. Giovanni Castelli.

Mapei Stadium, considered to be one of the most modern stadiums in Italy, owned by the Mapei company since 2013, has been the subject of some extraordinary maintenance work involving the re-roofing of the East and West stands, the addition of smart entrances and above all the renovation of the playing field.
On the occasion of the redevelopment project, the deep drainage system built by Mapei during the first works on the sports facility in 2014 was subject to performance testing. It was thus confirmed that the Mapesoil technology – totally without pipes and still in perfect condition – continues to guarantee drainage of the pitch, without any further maintenance work. This demonstrates how Mapei’s technology is guaranteeing durability, and therefore sustainability, of the facility as well as constant turf performance over the entire playing surface, even during heavy rainfall, without water stagnation.
To deepen the aspects of its technology, Mapei is hosting a workshop at the Mapei Stadium dedicated to the system itself. Through the tales of the leading experts in the sector involved in the restoration of the playing surface, the event offers the opportunity to discover how a high-performance football pitch is created from the sub-base to the turf.
After the technical meeting, there will be an on-field visit with Dr. agronomist Giovanni Castelli and Alessio Dionisi, coach of the U.S. Sassuolo Calcio first team.

We recommend entering the city from Autostrada A1 – Reggio Emilia Exit.
BY TRAIN + Shuttle

From there, there will be a transfer service with a dedicated shuttle provided by Mapei for its guests.
Shuttle times will be indicated as soon as they are available.
From the station it is also possible to reach the stadium by walking or by bus lines 5, 9.
