The country will welcome 32 national teams in eight host cities: Brasilia, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Fortaleza and Recife.

The choice of venues reflects Brazil’s cultural and geographical diversity, with cities that already breathe football and will now have the opportunity to strengthen their role on the global sporting scene.

The Ministry of Sport, led by André Fufuca, coordinates the National Strategy for Women’s Football, an ambitious plan that goes beyond the organisation of the event. The aim is to promote the long-term development of the sport throughout the country.

In addition to the sporting aspect, the strategy has a strong social and economic impact, involving schools, clubs, communities and local organisations. One of the main pillars is the training of athletes, coaches, referees and managers.

To ensure that the cities are prepared, an Interministerial Working Group has been set up, with the participation of various federal government bodies, including the Ministries of Finance, Labour and Foreign Affairs, as well as the Attorney General’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office of the Treasury.

Although Brazil has modern stadiums that were renovated for the 2014 Men’s World Cup, organising the 2027 Cup requires structural adjustments, updated logistical plans and the involvement of the population in women’s football.
