The construction system

Formula Gioco Safety System is a combined impact-absorbing, non-toxic and certified flooring consisting of three main elements: the PLAY 24 ONE-DNA™ 100% PE synthetic turf, the PROPLAY® shock-absorbing mat, and SILICA SAND, the dried silica sand for turf stabilisation.

PLAY 24 ONE-DNAâ„¢ is the first totally recyclable, mono-polymer 100% polyethylene synthetic turf on the market. Its yarn is derived from high-performance sports surfaces and is designed to reduce friction and improve playing performance and durability.

It is the visible layer of the anti-trauma flooring and has two important functions: to protect the shock-absorbing mat underneath from dust and UV rays, preserving its fall-absorbing performance over time, and to contribute to the aesthetics of the play area thanks to a full range of 6 colours and figures that can be customised using digital image weaving, computerised cutting or hand carving techniques.

Its patented polyethylene backing provides 10 times more permeability than synthetic turf with SBR latex or polyurethane fixative coating.

Play 24 ONEâ„¢ has obtained the highest product certifications – Circularity, Hazardous substances (SVHC), Leaching, Value retention, Safety EN 71-3 – and the Environmental Product Declaration EPD (MRPI® 1.1.00540.2024) according to EN15804+A2.

The heart of the Formula Prato® Formula Gioco Safety System is the PROPLAY® shock-absorbing mattress made of closed-cell, thermally bonded, cross-linked polyethylene (XPE) foam. This foam comes from post-industrial production residues, contains no contaminants and is fully recyclable.

The matting is placed directly under the synthetic turf, allowing the playing surfaces to be completely flat. The winning features of this product are the large size of the slabs, the tried and tested jigsaw attachment system, the ease of installation and shaping, and the maintenance of mechanical performance over time. ProPlay® guarantees high water permeability and excellent vertical drainage.

Finally, SILICA SAND is the dried silica sand with controlled granulometry, which is required for stabilising the Play 24 ONE-DNAâ„¢ synthetic turf. With the other elements it contributes to the high safety control of the system.

Formula Gioco Safety System by Formula Prato® is tested according to UNI EN 1177:2018 + AC:2019 in 6 construction systems (FG-25, FG-35, FG-45, FG-55, FG-70 and FG-90) capable of protecting against falls from heights up to a maximum height of 3.0 m.
