Wolf System has contributed its experience to the construction of sports buildings throughout Italy, where customised design and attention to technical details are combined with essential aesthetics.

Sports facilities are not simply functional structures, but real places of experience, where light, air and materials become an integral part of the athletic journey.

It is thanks to the flexibility and structural lightness of wood that spaces that once seemed impossible can now be imagined and built.

The Next Sport Club in Cagliari, by Wolf System

A concrete example is the recent Next Sport Club in Cagliari, a state-of-the-art facility designed to become a landmark in the island’s sporting landscape. Eight indoor padel courts, a training academy, a modern clubhouse and an outdoor green area make this centre a model of integration between sport, socialising and sustainable architecture.

Measuring 107×30.6 metres and with frame heights between 8.55 and 9.64 metres, the structure is made of a mixed steel-laminated wood system, combining strength, lightness and ample free space. The envelope was constructed using insulated sandwich panels with concealed screws, which guarantee thermal/acoustic comfort together with a clean aesthetic.

The facility is suitable for hosting international tournaments, having obtained CONI certification and federal approval.

The Village Padel & Tennis in Grosseto, by Wolf System

At Village Padel, the structures that now provide operators and players with maximum comfort were built in several stages, beginning in 2019-2020, all with a supporting structure made of steel and laminated wood: pavilion 2 covering two padel courts (with polycarbonate roofing to maximise internal brightness), the reception area (wooden walls with internal plasterboard cladding and external thermal insulation cladding), the large shed housing the clay tennis courts (sandwich panels alternating with polycarbonate panels); up to the new pavilion covering another 5 padel courts.

The Happy Village in Terni, padel by Wolf System

The Happy Village includes 11 panoramic padel courts (4 of which are WPT models), 7 tennis courts (3 of which are clay courts), a bar, restaurant, gym, physiotherapy centre and swimming pool.

Wolf System worked on a platform with 4 outdoor padel courts, for which a cover was requested so that the facility could be used all year round.

The structure is hinged with ground anchors to make use of the existing structure, and the cover is made of sandwich panels with good insulation; the exterior finish is faux Corten steel. The work took about two months for the structures and panelling.

These are just a few of the many examples that show how architectural quality, combined with sustainable materials and advanced engineering solutions, can significantly improve the sporting experience. Constructions that only wood can create, serving sport and people.
