Cavallino Treporti (Venezia): Enlargement of the Sports hall

The sports hall, made of modular prefabricated panels, no longer complied with the Federation’s rules for the game of basketball since 2017.

The sports hall of Cavallino Treporti, made of modular prefabricated panels, no longer complied with the Federation’s rules for the game of basketball since 2017.
The municipality therefore decided to enlarge the building. The project made it possible to: extend the playing field; improve public access; redistribute space for the public by improving the usability of the sports hall; improve safety within the facility; and finally improve the aesthetics of the building.
A wall has been demolished, the playing field has been enlarged and the existing prefabricated grandstand has been reduced in size; a retractable telescopic grandstand has also been introduced for the public, allowing seats to be increased from 200 to 315.

Since it was not possible to improve the massive silhouette of the prefabricated building, a new curtain wall has been created that allows the building to be recognised and allows the user to immediately identify the entrances (whether public or athlete).
The resulting large facade is the presentation card of the Palasport, enriched by an inscription placed vertically visible even from a distance.
