Italy’s bid dossier for the 2032 European Football Championships dates back to April 2023. At the time, of the ten stadiums proposed to host the event, one was already ready, three had feasible but unstarted projects, and five could be adapted with appropriate interventions, but were not.

In October of that year, Italy and Turkey agreed to share the event: by October 2026, each country will have to submit five stadiums.
In July this year, the FIGC carried out inspections of the ten Italian stadiums in the presence of a UEFA representative. The cities must submit the best infrastructure projects from among those already approved, financed and ready for construction by March 2027: however, the situation is still the same as it was two years ago.
Among those with sufficient capacity, only the Juventus stadium in Turin meets all UEFA requirements, but not for the finals.

The ten stadiums proposed by Turkey, on the other hand, are compliant: the risk is that Turkey will be left alone to host the entire European Championship.
However, based on Italy’s experience with major events for which it has applied in the past, we can assume that by October 2026, Italy will declare that, in addition to the Juventus Stadium, four other stadiums will be ready for construction in the very near future (e.g. Rome, Florence, Bologna, Cagliari); and then it will do everything possible to get them ready by 2032.
