New gymnasium flooring at Liceo Brocchi in Bassano del Grappa

The aim of this project was to allow the gymnasium flooring at Liceo Brocchi in Bassano del Grappa (province of Vicenza), built 50 years ago, to maintain its functionality for both school and competitive activities, in accordance with the safety regulations and laws that have been in place over the years.
After recent adaptations to other parts of the building, this year the administration completed the renovation work with the resurfacing of the wooden floor.
After the preparatory operations of removing the existing old floor and collecting all the waste material and taking it to an authorised landfill, the new floor was laid.
The actual specialised work consisted in the formation of a pre-painted prefabricated parquet sports floor, in 22 mm thick planks of first grade wood, with tongue and groove joints, both on the sides and on the heads.
The complete package envisaged the laying of an 18 mm thick elastic thermo-acoustic mattress, certified eco-sustainable, of a dividing board made of 12 mm thick multilayer plywood, and the laying of the 22 mm thick solid parquet planks, to give the total height of the finished floor of 52 mm.
The new flooring is FIBA certified, SPORTS LABS certified in accordance with EN 14904, fire reaction in accordance with EN 13501 and the important compliance with the Minimum Environmental Criteria CAM.
