On the training event that Tsport and Sport&Impianti offered, both remotely and (in collaboration with Theatro) in-presence, to talk about PNRR and its influence on sports facilities and school infrastructure, we asked the 600 participants what they had heard most interestingly on that occasion and what topics they would like to see covered in the future.

For now, human intelligence is still needed.

The opportunity to discuss the PNRR in the “Special” of TSPORT 356, reminds us of the great wasted opportunity of being able to place the urban redevelopment of neighbourhoods and urban peripheries in wide-ranging plans.

Faced with the difficulties we are demonstrating in completing (sometimes even starting!) the works necessary for the holding of major sporting events, one wonders what the real advantage is in wanting to take them on and whether the cost/benefit balance is ultimately positive.

The topic of urban regeneration, dealt with in issue 365 of Tsport, is connected with that of land use: one of the aspects highlighted during the summer season that has just passed is that of microclimatic alterations due to the transformation of unbuilt areas.

We have also discussed this in the recent Sport&Impianti webinars. When faced with the design of a sports facility, which requires the installation of specific materials related to the athletic performance of future users, a generic specification definition (perhaps accompanied by the words ‘or equivalent’) is not enough to guarantee the result.

The choices made for the allocation of PNRR funds are not always consistent with EU principles.

The 2021 edition of FSB, the international trade fair for sports facilities, takes place from 26 to 29 October in Cologne, and is one of the first events in attendance after the pandemic.

An Olympics that until the very end had risked being cancelled, due to fears of the pandemic and the underground hostility of the Japanese themselves, turned out to be a historic success, at least for Italian sport.

The UEFA Euro 2020 championship, which takes place from 11 June to 11 July this year (delayed by twelve months due to the pandemic), is a sign of rebirth for Europe after a year of sports without spectators.
