The first RADICI SPORT 100% NO-INFILL turf is in Gallarate, in the province of Varese, Italy: a solution that anticipates the European directive banning polymeric infills from 2031.
The grass without infill by RADICI SPORT: the first NO-INFILL pitch

RADICI SPORT, in collaboration with former national team player Marco Parolo, has created the world’s first 100% NO-INFILL certified FIFA BASIC pitch with the revolutionary ULTRAMIX 38.40 EVO N.I. turf at the Passo Sella Torino Club sports centre in Gallarate (Varese, Italy).
This is a solution that actually anticipates the European directive regarding the ban on the marketing of polymeric infill for artificial turf from 2031. This system in fact consists exclusively of artificial turf without any use of sand, polymeric granules or performance underlay of any kind.
The system is extremely environmentally sustainable as it reduces material transport and maintenance costs, is recyclable at the end of its life, and has a much lower economic impact than traditional systems currently on the market.

The characteristics of NO-INFILL turf by RADICI SPORT
RADICI SPORT has been developing this solution for over a decade. All the studies on kinematics, biomechanics and surface/player interaction have shown that this system performs even better and, above all, guarantees sensations that are much more similar to natural grass than traditional ones.
The ‘NO-INFILL’ turf by RADICI SPORT has a structural construction created by the combination of different types of yarns, with different degrees of texturisation that replace and fill those volumes normally occupied by the infill. As a result, the interaction of the cleat with the turf is much more stable and guarantees a decidedly superior grip thanks to greater and more uniform penetration into the grass itself. With traditional clog systems, changes of direction, sudden braking and sprints from a standstill are characterised by a more or less pronounced shifting of the support foot.
A further advantage of this type of covering is the uniform performance in the event of adverse weather conditions. Since the system is made with only one component (the wire), there are no performance variations normally typical of clogged systems that are particularly sensitive to changing weather conditions (ice, heavy rain, very hot and dry climates).

FIFA certification for NO-INFILL system by RADICI SPORT
The system installed at Marco Parolo’s Centro Sportivo Torino Club has been FIFA BASIC certified three consecutive times since its installation and is the first totally ‘NO-INFILL’ pitch in the world to achieve this result.
The tests to be carried out on the pitch for certification purposes relate to vertical bounce, ball rolling, shock absorption, energy restitution and rotational torsion to ensure optimal playing performance to safeguard the athletes.
Currently, FIFA, by virtue of the introduction of the new Test Manual for synthetic turf, only allows the certification of such systems on the pitch according to the FIFA BASIC protocol: this is due to the fact that, as these systems are innovative, a running-in period is necessary in order to monitor their evolution over time.

Conclusions
RADICI SPORT ULTRAMIX EVO 38.40 N.I. certainly represents a significant breakthrough in the sports facility sector thanks to its multiple benefits in terms of sustainability, performance, durability and extremely low maintenance.
This technology redefines the standards for all sports fields by combining innovation, respect for the environment, and extremely high performance.
