Italcementi and Calcestruzzi change names and become Heidelberg Materials
From November 2023, Italcementi and Calcestruzzi, historic companies whose history of people, knowledge and innovation has contributed to the country’s economic development, have become Heidelberg Materials. Heidelberg Materials is one of the world’s leading integrated manufacturers of construction solutions and materials in the cement, aggregates and ready-mix concrete sectors.
The change is not only in the name, but in the very nature of the business. The future is sustainable and digital and goes far beyond cement. The range of products and services is evolving to drive the transformation of the industry. The new brand, representative, incisive and global, wants to give a face and a point of reference to this important transformation.
Heidelberg Materials’ industrial structure in Italy consists of cement production plants and several grinding centres covering the entire country. The production sites have obtained the ISO 14001 environmental certification to which is added, in some geographical areas, the CSC certification that certifies the responsible procurement process throughout the production chain, according to the basic principles of Sustainability. The industrial network is also completed and integrated thanks to the significant presence in the concrete and aggregates sector.
The drive towards innovation that has characterised Italcementi and Calcestruzzi, and today Heidelberg Materials, has been enriched by a true business unit – i.build- dedicated to the laying of floorings. i.build, which proposes a new approach for customers and designers: from collaboration in the design phase to the choice of materials, from surface finishing to on-site installation.
