A new multi-sport gymnasium has been built in the Cittadella degli Studi area in Thiene (Vi), with spaces for training and competition and a climbing wall.
Thiene (Vicenza): Double multisport gymnasium

Last September, work was completed on the new municipal gymnasium in Thiene, close to the school district but also open to the local area with its various rooms for many sports disciplines.
The entrances dedicated to sportsmen, visitors and cafeteria customers are distributed under the canopy, which welcomes and directs the flows, generating a public area that can be used during the various hours of opening to the public.

Inside the new gymnasium in Thiene, a sports hall approved for silver level basketball, baskin, volleyball and five-a-side football is equipped with a 297-seat grandstand. A second training gymnasium can in turn be separated by a movable wall, for simultaneous use by different sports groups.

On the upper floor, a multi-activity space and a fencing gymnasium overlook the double-height interior volumes with large windows, creating a visual dialogue between the different disciplines. From each level of the building of the gymnasium in Thiene it is possible to view the climbing wall in the inner courtyard.

The sports complex with gymnasium in Thiene, which occupies a gross area of 6,441 square metres, is designed according to NZEB criteria. The heat pump unit, powered by a 120KW photovoltaic and solar thermal system, provides underfloor heating and cooling, air treatment, filtration and dehumidification. A domotic building automation system reduces routine and extraordinary maintenance time.
